Practically Married consists of James Banner (double bass) and Declan Forde (piano). The duo has been active since 2015, serving as a core rhythm section for many groups in Berlin, as well as an outlet for their own creative expression and experimentation. From 2015 to 2024, the duo curated an eponymous series at the Berlin jazz club Donau115, inviting guests each month to perform with them. They have released five self-produced recordings to date, and the album Ao vivo no Café Dias with drummer João Pereira was released on the Portuguese label Robalo in 2022.
The series will continue at the gallery space spektral-raumohr from October 2024 (see gigs).
